Updating an earlier post about Attorneys General working with contingency-fee lawyers. And the fernbush: a solid player in the xeric garden.
I told you I would update if I heard from AG Weiser's office. I did get an email back.
Colorado (through the AG's office) does do some work with outside lawyers**. According to the AG's press secretary, the state engages outside counsel on a limited basis to assist the State Office of Risk Management (see the first link below) with subrogation claims for uninsured losses.
Any sort of litigation related to consumers (e.g. the suit on vaping) is done by state-funded, in-house counsel.
This may or may not apply to your any municipal, or local level attorneys, so if you are interested in knowing more, start by contacting your county commissioner or city council member and asking them. They may not know, but, if they're worth your vote, they'll help you find out.
One last thing worth noting. We can be thankful for the foresight shown by earlier Assembly members: a 2003 bill actually puts guardrails and fee caps on how contingency fees outside lawyers can make when working with the state. I put a link to the bill below (sent courtesy of the AG's office).
One last personal note. I do not agree politically with our current AG, but I must say that I respect how good his press secretary is about answering questions and engaging with me. This is in SHARP contrast to the Polis press department which does yeoman's work in shielding him and making sure he hears from people who will only lob softballs.
**The two pending claims they have now are:
State of Colorado v. Cleaver-Brooks, Inc. & Thomas B. Mansfield Company
A claim related to a building that the State owns on Quebec St. in Denver

Fernbush: a solid player in your xeric garden.
My fernbush (I planted it last year, so this is year two of its residency) recently bloomed and I wasn't sure if I'd shared my recommendation about it with you.
Highly recommended for your garden. It's good on water and a vigorous grower.
The flowers smell nice too and attract lots of pollinators. I put a link below to an info page about it. I know there are several places that sell them, but I'll let you look them up.
