The Pulizter for Propaganda Goes to The Washington Post. Yet another chance for Governor Polis to bloviate unchecked.
I think the headline of The Reload article below is apt: The Pulizter for Propaganda Goes to ..[The Washington Post]
I don't know if you have seen it or have references to it, but The Washington Post did a big series of articles on the AR-15 rifle and this series (or parts thereof) have been a staple of gun-control proponents on social media.
If you want to read it, I linked to it first below. I've read parts, didn't find much relevatory.
In a bid to remove most of the remaining credibility it has after awarding parts of the 1619 Project with a prize, the Pulitzer Board similarly rewarded the Post series.
And as with 1619, there are holes big enough to drive a truck through in the Post's AR-15 series.
In my ongoing effort to present you with counterpoint and alternative views on things, I put the recent piece from The Reload newsletter second below, a pretty thorough examination of the holes and problems in the Post's reporting.
Give it a read and keep it in your pocket for when you see people talkingwriting/posting about the Post and/or AR-15's.

Yet another chance for Governor Polis to bloviate unchecked.
Good old Governor Polis. Nothing he likes better than matching the demeanor and attitude of whoever he's with.
And the media (even conservative-leaning media apparently) seem to like nothing better than letting him.
In the Gazette Editorial Board op-ed below, they fully, entirely, completely let him off the hook for his previous policy decisions which helped put us in the situation where we're now having to deal with the "awful EPA". Decisions he knowingly and openly made.
Decisions they refused to hold his feet to the fire over.
I've written in the past about my disappointment over how FoxNews lets Polis parachute into their news programs and play centrist.
This feels worse to me; FoxNews at least has the excuse of being national news. They're lazy for not researching or talking to Coloradans, but their ignorance feels more excusable.
The ignorance (willful or otherwise) of the Gazette here is different. They LIVE here.
I sent the board an email as a letter to the editor. As of this writing, I'm not sure if they will print it. Don't know that I care. They need to be made aware of the fact that others saw they had a chance and didn't take it.
My letter follows.
To the Denver Gazette Editorial Board,
My name is Cory Gaines and I'm writing re. your May 10 editorial "Goodbye Legislature, Hello Governor Polis".
I understand the spirit of the op-ed by both its content and its timing; this is obviously one of those legislative session wrap-ups. In that sense, I think some leeway is in order on how much detail and how much pushing you do.
Still, I cannot help but be disappointed by yet another media outlet (and one that is conservative-leaning no less!) playing pat-a-cake with our governor. One longs for a media that has a memory that stretches back farther than 6 months and that holds career politicians like Jared Polis to account for his earlier statements and actions.
Did you remember that our governor refused to continue asking for a waiver from the EPA? Did you remember that he did so full well knowing its outcome?
If you did, my next question is why you didn't bother to call him on it while he bloviated at length over the EPA and his distaste for them? If not, might I suggest some ginkgo biloba.
I am used to seeing left-leaning outlets give our governor a pass on his obfuscations, his hypocrisy, his disingenuous statements and flat-out lies. It's startling to see this from a Gazette. I suppose we can lump you in with FoxNews now for your whitewashing of the governor's previous decisions, decisions which (if not causing at least) contribute to our current situation.
Cory

Bravo!
