It seems every 3-4 years progressives drag the progressive income tax code out for our approval. Every time its sent to the circular filing cabinet by the voters. If for no other reason, why would a taxpayer who already is a slave to the 75k page federal progressive income tax code want a state progressive income tax code to deal with? Only accountants and Intuit.

Even a supposedly flat tax like Colorado's has such a complicated code as to be an accountant's dream. Full time employment.

That's very true for what should be a pretty simple one page tax filing. I think the DOR deliberately tries to make the flat tax complicated by adding additional complication to the filing process. We must never go back to the progressive code because although its sold as eliminating taxes on the low income family, and punishing the upper income family, the real objective is raising income taxes on the middle class--where, in the mind of the progressive politician, the real taxable income resides.
