Local race endorsements: Chandler and Menten.
A couple of local race endorsements.
I wanted to put up a special post today with some local race endorsements. I know both of these individuals personally and I know enough of their politics to know that they would do well.
First (alphabetically) is Kathleen Chandler. She is running for RTD Commissioner from District 5 (see the attached screenshot 1 from her website linked below for a map).
If that name is familiar to you, I'm glad. I'm glad because Mrs. Chandler runs the local government project at Independence Institute (and your familiarity means you've at least been paying attention).
She has been a big supporter of mine which I appreciate, but of more importance with regard to her fitness as a commissioner is her commitment to sound tax policy and a desire to be a responsible steward of YOUR tax money. I know this because I know her, and because many a post I have written (the one on Adam Smith for example) came as tips from her.
If you google her, you'll also get a sense of where her policies would land by listening to one or more of the numerous times she's been interviewed. They're not hard to find.
You can also go to her website below and get a look. If you live in RTD's 5th district or know someone who does, take a second to learn about her philosophy and/or share her website.
Next I want to mention Natalie Menten. Again, this name will likely be familiar to you because Ms. Menten has been an activist for TABOR and sound fiscal policy (do you see the theme for both of these women today?) since long before I started paying any attention at all to politics.
She has also been a big help for me, but as with Mrs. Chandler, that's not the sole reason I recommend her to you. Ms. Menten puts her money where her mouth is when it comes to being involved.
I frequently hear her testifying on many of the bills I testify on. I also see her mentioned or interviewed over and over on issues regarding your TABOR rights and local Jefferson County politics.
Natalie Menten is running for JeffCo county commissioner this Fall and she'd be a good one. It's a rare thing indeed these days in Colorado to see someone running for office who respects your money. Ms. Menten is a solid conservative advocate and would bring some much needed balance to JeffCo's board of commissioners.
Ms. Menten doesn't have a website as of yet (under construction--but I have to say I love her burlap campaign signs see screenshot 2 attached for a different version), but she will soon and when it's ready, I'll update.
If you live in JeffCo or know someone who does, look her up and/or tell your friend to do so.
