Does AG Weiser's support of abortion extend to making others pay for it against their beliefs? Booth's lopsided Sun story about feedlots.
Our current Attorney General, Phil Weiser, is a big supporter of abortion. A big supporter.
One needs merely look at one of his many tweets from his personal account (see the attached screenshot) to gather that.
He also holds himself out an an Attorney General for us all, a fan of the rule of law, and a champion of our rights.**
Which is what left me wondering. The ballot measure our AG references (see the Sun article linked at bottom, this being the same Sun article the AG linked to himself in his tweet from the screenshot) lifts a restriction in Colorado law that forbids the use of tax money to pay for abortions.
That is, as things stand now, your tax money cannot go to pay for abortions for public employees. If this ballot measure passes, whether you like abortion as much as Mr. Weiser does, you get to fund it for some, involuntarily.
I was curious at what Mr. Weiser thought about this particular provision of the ballot measure. I wrote to his press secretary to ask. My email is below. Thus far, I've not gotten an answer from our AG...
All of Colorado's AG
The fan of constitutional rights presumably including the First Amendment and your freedom of religion.
If I do hear whether our AG supports coercive government power being used to fund abortions for some, I'll update.

**And a fan of open and civil discourse between those that disagree. Gosh, a fella with so many interests as him must not have time for much else!

Good morning sir,
Wanted to write on something Mr. Weiser put on Twitter (X?) recently. See the screenshot below.
Do I have it right that this ballot measure, which would require taxpayers to fund abortions for certain gov't employees has Mr. Weiser's full support?
That is, that he believes taxpayers should be required to pay for the abortions of others?
Thanks! If a phone call's easier, AAA-BBB-CCCC.
A lopsided Sun story about feedlots.
Michael Booth, Colorado Sun "reporter" recently did an article about feedlots that I thought was beyond unfair.
I set out to fill in the information he didn't or wouldn't include in his article. That effort is my Complete Colorado op ed linked below.

Remember when the ACLU stood for defending fundamental freedoms and not the "freedom" to have places handing out needles in your neighborhood?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The ACLU is suing Pueblo over the ban the City Council voted in on needle exchange sites. Yes, you read that right. The American CIVIL LIBERTIES Union is suing a town after a group of democratically-elected town council members said they didn't want needle exchange sites in their town.
When did needle exchange become a civil liberty?
When is it that a group of people who think this sort of thing is a good idea get to overrule the policy choices of a town?
Apparently the ACLU thinks the time for those bold progressive moves is now.
